Adventure Experiences Colorado Big Game Hunting Guide Services Hunting License Information
All elk licenses except rifle cow tags, the first rifle hunt & muzzle loading season may be purchased over the counter at licensed agencies throughout Colorado, by phone at 800-244-5613, or by mail and do not require prior application before the beginning of the specific hunting season. All deer licenses are by draw only. First rifle season either sex private land elk licenses are available by draw. Applications may be obtained from the Colorado Division of Wildlife by phone at 303-297-1192 or on line at www.wildlife.state.co.us. The deadline for draw applications is April 5, 2005.

All license fees are dependent on the type of big game you will hunt.

Bull $485.25
Cow $250.25

Requirements-
- All hunters wishing to hunt for big game must be at least sixteen years of age.
- Hunters 12-15 years of age must have a mentor 18 years or older.
- Hunter Education (Safety) Course completion
- Everyone born in 1949 or after MUST have completed an approved hunter education (safety) course sanctioned by a State, County, or Province BEFORE applying for or purchasing a license. Colorado does honor completion of hunter education (safety) courses in other states.
- Hunters MUST wear at least 500 square inches of daylight fluorescent orange(camouflage orange is NOT legal) material in an outer garment above the waist, part of which MUST be a hat or head covering-visible from all directions while hunting. BOW HUNTERS ARE NOT REQUIRED TO WEAR ORANGE DURING THE ARCHERY SEASON.
